The Rogers Documentary and Cable Network Fund has alloted $4.87 million in equity investment across 17 projects in its latest round of funding.
On the Documentary Channel, Secrets of Survival from Vigilance Productions, Sweet Daddy Productions’ Sweet Daddy Siki, Best Trip Ever’s You’re Soaking In It and Soapbox Productions’ At Any Cost: Reproductive Tourism & the Surrogacy Boom all received funding. Shiners from H2L Productions, also the recipient of financing, has the Documentary Channel and Canal D attached as confirmed broadcasters.
Discovery series’ Cold Water Cowboys (pictured) season three from Paperny Entertainment, as well as Frontier season one from Take the Shot Productions and Omnifilm Entertainment’s Jade Fever season two also secured equity investment. Fellow recipient Conspiracy Project from Screen Siren Pictures airs on Discovery Canada and National Geographic U.S.
Season four of Klondike Productions’ Yukon Gold and Yap Films’ Black Watch (both for the History Channel) also picked up funding coin, while APTN’s Tribal Police Files from Kwassen Productions and the third season of Mohawk Girls from Rezolution Pictures also received a share of the financing.
On Bell Media’s Space, Bitten‘s third season and Orphan Black season four also picked up a portion of the money, while Good Human Productions’ The Bachelor season three for W Network, and EyeSteel Film’s Tokyo Girls for Super Channel, ARTE and BBC also received financing via the Rogers Cable Network Fund stream.
