Ilana Miller has been promoted to the position of partner at film and TV literary firm The Jennifer Hollyer Agency (JHA).
Miller started at the agency seven years ago as an executive assistant and was promoted to agent three years ago. Her new responsibilities will not change drastically, though she will take a greater role in management areas, said agency president Jennifer Hollyer.
“She knows the clients very well and she’s been instrumental in the growth of our client base. We [JHA] work very cooperatively, so we’re really formalizing a way we already have worked for a number of years,” Hollyer told Playback Daily.
Early in Miller’s career she also worked in a production role on Degrassi, and she is currently a member of the Toronto Screenwriting Conference Advisory Board.
JHA was founded in 1991 by Jennifer Hollyer and represents television and film writers, producers, story editors and showrunners.
Hollyer said that the international television market is the area in which JHA sees the most growth for the future. Beyond Canada, JHA’s current focus is on other English-language markets – namely the U.S. and U.K.
“We see growth in all areas of television, and we specialize in creators and showrunners, so we see growth in that area too,” said Hollyer.
At this time there are no plans to expand the size of the team.
