Vancouver Film Studios has promoted its senior marketing exec Pete Mitchell to EVP and COO, effective immediately.
Mitchell will oversee day-to-day operations at VFS, Pacific Backlot Services and the film and television activities of its sister company Signal Systems – all members of the McLean Group of real estate and studio holdings. Prior to joining VFS in 1999, Mitchell served as British Columbia film commissioner, and was a business agent for the International Photographers Guild, IATSE.
‘Pete has become a key member of our senior management team and we look forward to growing the business with the benefit of his leadership,’ said VFS president Sacha McLean in a release.
Also at VFS, Gerry Rutherford was made VP of production services, overseeing production equipment rental, while Jennifer Roe-Emery is Signal Systems’ new film coordinator, working in sales, marketing and support services.
