Creative B.C. has announced that its director of industry development Gordon Hardwick is leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities.
Hardwick was with the B.C. organization for more than 15 years and will be replaced on an interim basis by Marnie Orr. Orr currently serves as the production services coordinator, and will also take on community affairs responsibilities while a full-time replacement is found.
During his time with Creative B.C., Hardwick was instrumental in standardizing policies and guidelines for location use, as well as promoting environmentally friendly work through the Reel Green Film Festival, an event showcasing films that focus on promoting a greener global footprint.
Earlier in the year, Creative B.C. reported that 2015 is expected to be one of its busiest ever years. Between March of 2014 and 2015, the B.C. agency gave 261 tax credits for an estimated $1.84 billion in provincial production volume.
