The 2015 Fantasia International Film Festival has announced world premieres for an additional two Canadian titles.
The festival, taking place from July 14 to Aug. 4 in Montreal, has revealed that it will give world premiere screenings to Larry Kent’s horror She Who Must Burn and Chad Archibald’s Bite.
The films join the The Demolisher from director Gabriel Carrer and He Never Died from Canadian filmmaker Jason Krawczyk, which will also get its international premiere at the 19th edition of the festival.
She Who Must Burn, from Palama Film Productions and White Buffalo Films, is a horror starring Sarah Smyth as Angela, an organizer of a Planned Parenthood clinic that comes under attack from violent evangelists.
Produced by Breakthrough Entertainment, Bite is a horror about a bride-to-be who is bitten by an insect at her bachelorette party. As the big day nears, she begins exhibiting increasingly insect-like behaviour.
The Demolisher is a Latefox Pictures revenge story about a repairman who looks after his wife – an ex-cop crippled by gang violence – by day, and by night does harm to any criminals he can find. He Never Died stars punk icon Henry Rollins as an unassuming cannibal who tries to mind his own business but ends up being targeted by the mob. The horror feature is produced by Alternate Ending Studios.
Fantasia International Film Festival will release its full 2015 schedule on July 7, a week ahead of the festival’s opening.
