Banff, Shaw Media announce mentorship winners
Selected showrunners are meeting and greeting in Banff while writers have earned a two-week stint in a Canadian writing room. (Program mentor Brenda Greenberg pictured.)
The Banff World Media Festival and Shaw Media have unveiled the participants selected for the 2015 edition of the Shaw Media Mentorship Programs, including Larry Bambrick and Andrew Carr.
Along with Bambrick and Carr, Josh Gal, Mike McPhaden and Raj Panikkar were chosen to take part in the Shaw Media Drama & Comedy Showrunner Training Program, while Tara Armstrong, Seth Cooperman, Jonathan Joffe, Ashley Park, and Amanda Smith-Kolicar were selected for the Shaw Media Writer’s Apprentice Program.
The showrunner training program will be headed up by For Jake’s Sake Productions exec producer Brenda Greenberg. Through the program, participants will be involved in meetings with executives and showrunners during Banff World Media Festival, and will be provided with networking opportunities and special classes.
Those taking part in the writer’s program will spend a two-week internship in the writer’s room of a current Canadian comedy or drama show.
