Space gets Bitten again, orders third season

The hit series for Space goes into production on new episodes later this year.

Space has ordered a third season of Bitten, with production scheduled to begin in late summer or fall in Toronto.

The announcement was made today by Bitten star Laura Vandervoort (pictured) on CTV’s daily show The Social. As well, the second season of the show will air on CTV, beginning July 4 at 10 p.m.

Bitten, which stars Vandervoort (Smallville, Ted) as the female werewolf Elena Michaels, is based on a series of Kelley Armstrong novels, and was the first Space show to be given a dedicated aftershow, Innerspace: After Bite.

The first season of the show drew an average weekly audience of 347,000 viewers.

Also starring in the third season – produced by Hoodwink Entertainment, No Equal Entertainment and Entertainment One Television –  is Greyston Holt (Alcatraz, Durham County), Steve Lund (Being Erica, Haven), Greg Bryk (A History Of Violence, Rookie Blue) and Genelle Williams (Warehouse 13).
