Leboeuf, Goulem nab Montreal ACTRA Awards

Laurence Leboeuf and Alain Goulem came out the big winners at the 2007 ACTRA Awards in Montreal, taking home prizes for outstanding female and male performance, respectively, in a ceremony on June 9.

Leboeuf was recognized for her role as a teenage girl lured into a sex-trafficking ring in the miniseries Human Trafficking, while Goulem was feted for his work as an overeager hockey dad in cancelled CBC mockumentary series The Tournament.

Michel Perron won for best voice performance for the animated series Monster Allergy, while Stéphane Lefebvre took home the prize for best stunt performance for the CTV MOW Last Exit.

Walter Massey, whose career dates back to the 1950s, and who has amassed numerous credits in film, TV and on stage, received the Award of Excellence for his body of work, while Arden Ryshpan, the Directors Guild of Canada’s executive in charge of directors’ affairs, was presented the Montreal Community Builder Award for her efforts to improve the treatment of film and TV performers.

The awards celebrate the work of ACTRA members who live in Montreal. Voice performer and director Richard M. Dumont hosted the gala at Le Medley.
