Nelvana licenses Builder Brothers Dream Factory to Roku for U.S.

The 3D-animated series based on reality TV stars Drew and Jonathan Scott will launch in the U.S. on Aug. 15.

The Roku Channel has picked up the Canadian preschool series Builder Brothers Dream Factory for the U.S.

The license for the series was sold by Corus Entertainment-owned children’s entertainment studio and distributor Nelvana. It will debut on the streamer on Aug. 15.

Coproduced by Sinking Ship Entertainment and Scott Brothers Entertainment, the 40 x 11-minute series centres on eight-year-old versions of the future Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott as they use their imagination, creativity and DIY skills to help others and inspire kids to dream big.

Nelvana came on board as global distributor and merchandise agent for the series ahead of its premiere on Corus’ Treehouse TV channel in Canada in 2023. The show has since been licensed for territories including the U.K. (ITV), Spain (Genial Media), Norway (NRK), Southeast Asia (Warner Bros. Discovery), China (Senyu) and LatAm (Discovery Kids Latin America).

Builder Brothers Dream Factory has built an engaged fanbase with audiences around the world, [and] we’re proud to be partnering with The Roku Channel to help bring the beloved and much-anticipated series to viewers and their families across the U.S.,” said Julia Dodge, director of global strategy and distribution for Nelvana, in a statement.
