Cineflix Rights, Papercup team for Spanish AI dubs of Mayday

The companies are also exploring dubbing the series in three other European languages.

London-based Cineflix Rights, the sales and acquisitions arm of Montreal-headquartered Cineflix Media, has partnered with UK-headquartered AI dubbing platform Papercup to create Spanish-language dubs of Mayday: Air Disaster for viewing via YouTube, broadcast TV and FAST audiences in the U.S. and Latin America.

The Cineflix Productions series (pictured), currently in its 25th season, examines air crashes, near-crashes, hijackings, bombings and other disasters. The partnership has already seen more than 100 hours dubbed in standard Spanish in less than three months, according to a release.

The deal was brokered by Mike Gould, Cineflix Rights SVP, digital, who said in a release that the pact has already resulted in a new linear licensing deal for local versioning of the series.

Cineflix Rights and Papercup are exploring dubbing the series in three other European languages.

“As we’re eyeing a global market, and more specifically Europe, with Cineflix Rights, having this series of premium content dubbed to the highest broadcast quality specs in such a short timeframe is a feat that makes me very proud,” said Jesse Shemen, Papercup CEO and co-founder, in a statement.
