Milkcow, Atomic Cartoons among partners on TF1’s Action Rabbits

The companies are developing the CG-animated series with Paris-based Blue Spirit Productions and French network TF1.

Blue Spirit Productions, Atomic Cartoons and Milkcow Media are teaming up with TF1 to develop the upper preschool series Action Rabbits for the French broadcaster’s TFOU kids channel and TF1+ streamer.

Targeted at the four-to-seven demo, the CG-animated series hops along with four bunnies who use their skills and high-tech gear to protect an island full of volcanoes, jungles and ancient temples.

Alexander Bar, CEO of Toronto-based Milkcow Media (Ricky Zoom) created Action Rabbits and is co-producing it with Newen Studios’ Blue Spirit Productions animation studio and Vancouver-based Thunderbird Entertainment’s Atomic Cartoons. Distributor Newen Connect (also part of Newen Studios) gave broadcasters a first look at it during the Kidscreen Summit, which ran from Feb. 9 to 12 in San Diego.

The “thrilling adventures” of the rabbits attracted TF1 to the project, said Yann Labasque, head of youth programming for TF1 Group, in a statement, adding that the TFOU kids channel for under 10s had more than 21% of the viewing share in France in 2024.
