Newmarket, Ont.-based producer and distributor Brain Power Studio has promoted Nancy Yeaman to COO.
In the newly created role, Yeaman (pictured left) will oversee Brain Power’s expanding IP creation initiatives and corporate affairs, according to a Tuesday (Jan. 28) release. Yeaman’s former role was EVP of kids and original content, where she managed content business affairs, including talent negotiations, IP acquisitions and writer agreements.
Prior to joining Brain Power, Yeaman held roles at Portfolio Entertainment and Decode Entertainment (now known as WildBrain) as director of development.
Brain Power has also brought on Rimma Belau (pictured right) as the company’s director of finance. Belau will oversee production and corporate finance as well as risk management for Brain Power. Belau will lead consolidation efforts and build relations with third-party lenders and auditors.
Belau has more than 15 years of experience in accounting and finance across the entertainment and manufacturing industries. She previously served as accounting manager at TimePlay and as a senior accountant for LGL Limited.
“Nancy has been the backbone of our content pipeline, and her dedication has been pivotal to Brain Power Studio’s growth. Expanding her role is a natural step as we continue to scale,” said Brain Power CEO Beth Stevenson, in a statement. “We are equally thrilled to welcome Rimma, whose expertise and insights will be invaluable as we navigate our next phase of growth.”
