The doc follows transgender musician Beverly Glenn-Copeland and his wife as they navigate the implications of his dementia diagnosis.

Canadian filmmaker Chase Joynt is directing See You Tomorrow, a documentary about transgender musician Beverly Glenn-Copeland (pictured).

The 80-year old U.S.-born, New Brunswick-based musician, referred to as Glenn in the release, announced in September that he had been diagnosed with dementia.

The doc, now in production, focuses on Glenn and his wife, Elizabeth Glenn-Copeland, as they navigate the implications of Glenn’s dementia diagnosis, share stories from his life and look forward to preserving his artistic legacy. Production is scheduled to wrap summer 2025.

See You Tomorrow is produced by Samantha Curley from Los Angeles-based Level Ground Productions and Sean O’Neill from Toronto-based Visitor Media. Financing for the project has not been disclosed.

Last week (Oct. 2), Glenn, along with British musician Sam Smith, released a cover of Glenn’s 1986 song “Ever New.” The song is part of a wider collaboration of more than 100 artists called Transa. The project is produced by the not-for-profit Red Hot, which raises awareness and funds research for HIV/AIDS through pop culture.

Joynt co-founded Level Ground Productions with Curley in 2021. The prodco, alongside Fae Pictures, produced his 2022 documentary Framing Agnes, which had a group of trans actors explore uncovered 1950s’ case files of transgender clients at the UCLA gender clinic. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 22, 2022 where it won the next innovator and audience awards. In 2023, it went on to win the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Documentary.

“Working with Glenn and Elizabeth at this pivotal moment in his life and career is an unprecedented opportunity to make a living trans history through collaboration, one that enables the production of a new archive for the future and captures the emotional and material transitions of the near past,” said Joynt in a statement.

Level Ground Productions is represented by Maggie Pisacane and Addie Poris at WME.
