Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive invests in three projects

The joint investment from the Canada Media Fund and Germany's Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg is $534,250.

The Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive is investing $534,250 in three interactive digital media (IDM) coproductions.

The funds are part of a joint investment through the Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB) to support co-development and coproduction of digital media projects between Canadian and Berlin-Brandenburg-based German producers.

Eligible projects must be created for digital platforms and can be either a game, a web series, multiplatform content, augmented reality or virtual reality experience.

Two projects received development funding, including an interactive animated anthology series from Ontario’s Antica Productions with German co-producer Gtvdocs GmbH. The other is an interactive multiplatform experience from B.C.-based Shadow Box Cinema and their German co-producer Syncreality GmbH.

Production funding was granted to Quebec-based Tobo Inc. and their German co-producer Telescope Game Studios UG for an interactive children’s book.

The total CMF commitment for this edition of the program is $277,100 and the MBB’s is $257,150.
