Hamilton post division launches grant program for short projects

The Shooting Eye's post-production label Hammer Post has opened the grant to support emerging filmmakers with their first or second projects.

Hammer Post, the post-production arm of Hamilton, Ont. prodco the Shooting Eye, has launched a grant program for emerging Canadian filmmakers.

The Mix & Grade Grant is valued at up to $5,000 and is available as in-kind audio mixing and colour grade services for short-form projects, including films, music videos, pilots and proof of concept videos.

Eligible recipients should be putting together their first or second project and must be a Canadian resident. The submission deadline is Aug. 31.

“It’s difficult to create a name for yourself with limited resources to do it, so we want to make it just that little bit easier for bold new filmmakers to get noticed,” said Jeremy Major, a filmmaker and president of the Shooting Eye, in a statement.

Hammer Post’s services include sound design, editing and mixing, as well as colour correction and grading. The Shooting Eye is the prodco behind the YesTV outdoor competition series Wild Child and Christena Hampson’s debut feature drama My Lala.
