Bell Media streamer Crave is giving new meaning to its name, thanks to a new collaboration with Tim Hortons.
An 80-minute filmed special of the coffee franchise’s stage musical The Last Timbit, which ran at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre in June, will debut on Crave on Aug. 12.
The special is produced by Bell Media Studios, with Emmanuel Groneveldt and Claudia Abate producing. The musical The Last Timbit is produced by Tim Hortons and Come From Away producer Michael Rubinoff. Music and lyrics were written by Anika Johnson and Britta Johnson, with the book penned by Nick Green.
Inspired by real events, the musical follows a group of strangers who are stranded at a Tim Hortons location during a blizzard, with a cast led by Chilina Kennedy (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) and Jake Epstein (The Hardy Boys).
Additional cast members include Sara Farb (Departure), Barbara Fulton (Come From Away), Kaya Kanashiro (Sort Of), Peter Millard (Murdoch Mysteries), Danté Prince (Detention Adventure) and Kimberly-Ann Truong (Run the Burbs).
The Aug. 12 launch will be supported by a wide-ranging promotion campaign via ads on Crave, as well as other digital, linear and audio platforms.
