Canada’s west coast scribes were in the spotlight on April 18 during the 2024 Vancouver Scripted Summit.

The one-day event was hosted by the Pacific Screenwriting Program (PSP) at Simon Fraser University’s Segal Building in Downtown Vancouver. The agenda included a variety of panels, networking opportunities and a pitch showcase from PSP’s 2024 Scripted Series Lab participants.

A number of buyers and executives attended the event, representing companies and broadcasters such as Bell Media, CBC, Corus Entertainment, Rogers Sports & Media, the CW Network, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, Netflix and Starz.

“Each year, this event matures and develops, and it has really come into its own as an important industry event,” said PSP executive director Camilla Tibbs in a statement. “B.C. has experienced a boom in domestic television production recently, and catalyst events like this support its continued success.”
