Canadian industry marketing veteran Stacey Brooks has died at 50.
Brooks died on April 22 following a breast cancer diagnosis, according to Super Channel, where she worked as director of marketing.
Brooks joined the outlet in July 2023, leading direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns, on-air promotions and digital marketing strategies (including social media). She played a pivotal role in shaping corporate and channel-specific branding.
Prior to her tenure at Super Channel, she served at Bell Canada, where she held various senior marketing roles over a span of 16 years, culminating as the senior manager of marketing communications for Bell Consumer Services.
She is being remembered by friends and loved ones as “the ringleader, the first to help and the last to say goodnight,” read her obituary.
“Words cannot adequately express our sadness or convey our appreciation for the privilege of working alongside Stacey,” said Super Channel president and CEO Don McDonald in a statement. “Our hearts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.”
A celebration of life honouring Brooks will be organized in the coming months, said Super Channel, with donations being accepted for Princess Margaret Hospital or Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto on her behalf.
