Hallmark Channel has renewed Neshama Entertainment’s The Way Home for a third season.
The multigenerational family drama was renewed ahead of the season two finale, which airs on March 31. The news was announced via an Instagram post on the show’s official account.
The Way Home is created by Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke and Marly Reed and stars Chyler Leigh and Sadie Laflamme-Snow as a mother and daughter who time travel to unravel secrets of the past. Andie MacDowell and Evan Williams also star.
The Ontario-shot series has been a ratings success for Hallmark, according to a news release. The channel said season two has ranked as the No. 1 program overall on entertainment cable in households, total viewers and women and persons over 18, citing data from Nielsen.
The Way Home is produced by Toronto’s Neshama Entertainment in association with MarVista Entertainment.
Executive producers include Fernando Szew, Hannah Pillemer, Larry Grimaldi, Ani Kevork, Arnie Zipursky, and Suzanne L. Berger, as well as Conkie, Clarke, Reed, MacDowell, Leigh. John Calvert is the series producer, while Mitch Geddes serves as consulting producer.
“Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke and Marly Reed continue to blow us away with the cleverly crafted story they’ve created and careful thought they put into every single detail,” said Kelly Garrett, VP, development at Hallmark Media, in a statement. “While some questions will be answered by the end of this season, the Landrys’ journey is far from over and there’s much more to tell.”
