Longtime Bell Media executive Pat DiVittorio (pictured) is departing the broadcaster next month.
DiVittorio will depart her role as VP, programming, CTV and specialty, and general manager, Discovery Networks Canada, on March 29 after 34 years with the company, Playback Daily has confirmed.
“Over her long tenure, Pat has been instrumental to the success of CTV,” said Karine Moses, SVP content development and news for Bell Media and vice-chair Quebec at Bell, in a statement provided to Playback. “I will miss her, as will many in the industry, both in Canada and abroad, with whom she has a reputation as a tough but fair negotiator who is deeply passionate about content.”
The departure is unrelated to the 4,800 job cuts announced at parentco Bell earlier this month, Playback understands.
DiVittorio joined CTV Toronto in 1990 as a program coordinator, and steadily rose in the ranks at Bell Media before taking on her current role in 2016.
Outside of her work at Bell Media, DiVittorio was formerly vice chair on the Women in Film and Television Toronto board, and was a member of the content advisory board of the Banff World Media Festival.
It has also been reported that Tory Jennings, director, English content at Crave and Starz, is no longer at Bell Media following this month’s job cuts. The company declined to comment as of press time.
Jennings joined Bell Media in 2010, handling programming for The Movie Network, which later became the SVOD and pay TV channel Crave.
