Deals: Pink Parrot Media, Boat Rocker, Keshet International

Pink Parrot sells Elli and her Monster Team! to multiple territories ahead of EFM, Boat Rocker boards a U.K. family series, plus more.

M ontreal- and Madrid-based sales company Pink Parrot Media has sold Canada/Germany animated film Elli and her Monster Team! to a number of territories as part of its launch at the European Film Market (EFM).

The CG-animated feature is produced by Montreal’s CarpeDiem Film & TV and German prodcos Zooper Film, Dreamin’ Dolphin and Traumhaus Studios. It tells the story of a little ghost on a quest to find and protect where she belongs.

Global buyers include Just Entertainment (Benelux), Bim Distribuzione (Italy), NOS Audiovisuais (Portugal), Flins & Piniculas (Spain), GPI Cinema (the Baltics), Pro Films (Bulgaria), Rocket Releasing (CIS), Forum Film (Czech Republic, Slovak, Poland, Romania and Israel), MCF Megacom Film (Former Yugoslavia), Cinetel (Hungary), and Front Row Filmed Entertainment (Middle East).

Elli and her Monster Team! already has distribution in Canada via levelFILM and Maison 4:3, and in Germany via Wildbunch.

The feature is directed by Jesper Møller and Piet de Rycker, who co-wrote the script with Paul Risacher, with Jens Møller serving as co-director.

Producers on the film include CarpeDiem’s Marie Claude Beauchamp, Lilian Klages and Thomas G. Muller for Zooper Film and Dreamin’ Dolphin, and Michael Luda for Traumhaus Studios. Wildbunch’s Marc Gabizon and Pink Parrot’s Tania Pinto Da Cunha are executive producers.

Boat Rocker

Boat Rocker Media has picked up the distribution rights to the first two seasons of the live action U.K. family series Olga Da Polga.

The Toronto-headquartered company is handling international sales rights, excluding the U.K., for the series, which is produced by Glasgow-based Maramedia.

Olga Da Polga is based on the book series by Paddington Bear creator Michael Bond, and follows the adventures of a guinea pig and her animal friends. It airs on CBeebies in the U.K.

Keshet International

CBC Gem has picked up Canadian rights to Israeli drama A Body That Works.

The eight-episode series is produced by Tel Aviv-based Kuma Studios, with Munich-based Keshet International handling global sales.

Co-created by Shira Hadad, Dror Mishani, and Shay Capon, A Body That Works depicts the emotional relationship between a couple and their surrogate. The series has been picked up in approximately 92 territories, according to a news release.
