Ottawa animation studio Big Jump Entertainment has hired A.J. Cote (pictured) as EVP of production and operations.

Cote joined in late January, and has been tasked to lead the company’s pipeline and production strategies, working alongside chief creative officer Cory Morrison.

Cote comes to Big Jump having previously served as director of professional services at Montreal’s Toon Boom Animation and, before that, president and CEO of One World Animation in Ottawa.

“A.J. was a key member of the original team that helped introduce Toon Boom Harmony into animation production over 20 years ago,” said Big Jump president Rick Morrison in a statement. “He brings a robust and diverse range of international experience, technical expertise and production prowess.”

Big Jump has provided animation production services on hundreds of hours of content for users such as Amazon, Netflix, Warner Brothers, Comedy Central, Nelvana, Disney-ABC, and others. The company’s series include Shutterbugs and Big Words, Small Stories.
