On Screen Manitoba, in partnership with Manitoba Film & Music, has launched the Script Angel Feature Film Accelerator to support emerging screenwriters in the province.
The mentorship program will connect five Manitoba writers with international industry mentors, and offer each $10,000 worth of support in order to aid in the development of their feature film scripts.
The initiative aims to contribute to the growth of Manitoba’s film and television industry by offering up-and-coming writers access to funding, networking opportunities, as well as showcase events where participants can present their work to industry stakeholders.
“This program is a catalyst to further develop and support local Manitoba screenwriters, bringing more unique voices and stories to the forefront of our dynamic film and television industry,” said Lynne Skromeda, CEO of Manitoba Film & Music, in a statement.
The program is open to screenwriters based in Manitoba, with participants selected by a panel of industry experts. The application deadline for entries is Jan. 26, with the program kicking off on March 1.
