Bell Media’s French-language network Noovo has commissioned comedy-drama series Marco Lachance.
Created by and starring Quebec actor Michel Charette (Les Boys, True North), the series tells the story of a single parent once-destined to be a star musician in the Quebec music scene. It is produced by Charette and ComediHa! in collaboration with Bell Media.
The 12 x 30-minute first season is set in Limoilou, Que., and is expected to air on Noovo in 2024.
The actor-director’s acclaim lends to the series’ appeal, said Suzane Landry, Bell Media’s VP, content development, programming and information at Bell Media, in a statement.
“Michel is a unifying, caring and very human guy, who shares values similar to those of his character Marco Lachance,” she continued. “I am convinced that the public will quickly become attached to Marco, just as they have done to Michel for many years.”
