Shooting has wrapped on the action thriller Ruthless Bastards, from director Bruce Fontaine (Beyond Redemption).
Filming began on Oct. 17 in and around Vancouver on the feature, which is produced by Action Lab Productions, Pandapix Pictures and Early Ignition Entertainment. Alex Bogomolov and Wai Sun Cheng are producers on the film, which is written by Varinder Jhattu.
Ruthless Bastards stars Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondocks Saintsl pictured, left), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and Indian singer-actor Parmish Verma (Rocky Mental), along with Sydney Scotia (Frank and Penelope; pictured, right), Theresa Lee Yee-Hung (You’re Hired) and Hasleen Kaur (CAT). The plot follows former partners in crime (Van Dien and Flanery) who reunite for a final mission against a crime boss.
The film has a budget of US$3 million, with Brian Sweet of APL Film handling distribution. It is produced under the jurisdiction of ACTRA and had secured an interim agreement by SAG-AFTRA to film during the strike, which came to an end this week after 118 days.
Flannery is represented by April Lim of Global Artists Agency; Van Dien is repped by Jeff Goldberg Management; and Scotia is repped by is Kendra Naka of The Characters Talent Agency.
