Canadian thriller Jackknife wraps filming in Ontario

The film marks the second feature from writer, director and producer Adam Jack.

Production has wrapped on the feature film Jackknife, from Canadian writer, director and producer Adam Jack.

The thriller is produced by Jack’s banner Eat Your Eggs Productions alongside Jason Lupish and Erica Sherwood under the Toronto prodco Jarico Films. Sherwood is also among the film’s cast.

Principal photography began in September in Toronto and around Grimsby, Ont., and wrapped in late October, according to a news release.

The film is led by newcomers Tivon Charles and Payton Mills, portraying two siblings who inadvertently kill someone when they’re ambushed in the woods, and are forced to flee. Douglas Vermeeren also stars.

Jackknife was financed through private investment and shot with a budget of less than $1 million, according to a spokesperson for the film. It marks Jack’s second feature as a director, following the 2023 horror film The Lurker.
