A new Crave comedy and a number of unscripted titles from Super Channel are among the new additions to Cineflix Rights’ sales slate ahead of MIPCOM.
The distribution arm of Cineflix Media has a number of scripted titles heading to Cannes, including Crave original series Late Bloomer (8 x 30 minutes), produced by Toronto’s Pier 21 Films in association with Bell Media. The series stars Jasmeet Raina, a.k.a YouTube star Jus Reign, who plays a fictional version of himself attempting to find balance in his life in the face of his growing internet fame.
Also joining the scripted slate are new seasons of Syfy and CTV Sci-Fi Channel’s Reginald the Vampire (20 x 60 minutes; Great Pacific Media, Modern Story, December Films, Cineflix Studios) and Radio-Canada’s Happily Married (28 x 60 minutes; Productions Casablanca).
Among the new additions to the unscripted slate are three Super Channel originals, all from different Canadian prodcos: Winnipeg-based Farpoint Films’ Ancient Bodies: Secrets Revealed, where experts investigate ancient deaths; Toronto-based Shark Teeth Films Mysterious Islands, which uses CGI, archival footage and witness testimony to explore the world’s most “enigmatic” islands; and Secret Nazi Science from Toronto’s Go Button Media, which is a follow-up to the series Secret Nazi Expeditions, and dives into the history of Nazi experiments.
MIPCOM runs from Oct. 16 to 19 in Cannes, France.
