Montreal-based TVA Group has appointed Patrick Jutras (pictured) as president of its post-production service provider and studio operator MELS.
Jutras, who assumed the new role on Monday (Oct. 2), has been tasked with driving MELS’ growth and expanding the company’s business relationships as it looks to attract more major local and international productions, according to a news release.
He takes over the role left vacant by the departure of Martin Carrier, who stepped down as president in March after three years.
Jutras will continue in his role as chief advertising officer of Quebecor Media and TVA Group, a position he has held since 2019, said the release.
He has more than 20 years of experience in senior management roles in commercial operations management, business development, sales and marketing, and communications.
Pierre Karl Péladeau, acting president and CEO of TVA Group, said in a statement that “with Patrick at the helm, MELS will be able to seize even more opportunities to shoot blockbusters and foreign series at its studios and maximize business opportunities for its many services, including post-production.”
Jutras added: “In the coming months, my management team and I will be working to maximize MELS’ reach and reaching out to our local and international partners to offer them a level of service unrivalled in the industry.”
