Sonia Thibault leaves Quebecor Content

Thibault, who has been with the company for more than a decade, will be moving into the "philanthropic world."

Quebecor Content’s director acquisitions, unscripted content, Sonia Thibault, is leaving the company.

Thibault, who has held a senior role in the company’s unscripted content team since March 2013, will be moving into the “philanthropic world,” she announced in a LinkedIn post.

A spokesperson for Quebecor confirmed to Playback Daily that Thibault is “leaving the industry for new challenges.”

Thibault’s previous roles include head of acquisitions at the Quebecor-owned media company TVA Group. Prior to that she worked as manager, broadcast sales, Asia-Pacific, at the National Film Board of Canada, and VP distribution at Montreal-headquartered Muse Entertainment.

“I am leaving my job to embark on a new adventure in the philanthropic world. I salute and thank all the people with whom I have had the pleasure of working and interacting over the years,” Thibault wrote.

Quebecor Content oversees popular unscripted Quebec programs such as the original format Révolution, as well as the localized version of The Masked Singer format, Chanteurs Masqués.
