Hasbro-owned Entertainment One (eOne) has launched Odd-Paw Vet, a new children’s IP and digital CGI-animated series aimed at kids aged two to five.
The 40 x 5-minute series is co-created by B.C. illustrator and designer Emily Mullock and L.A.-based writer Patrick Baggatta, with Paris-based studio Amuse Animation serving as the production partner. It comes from the in-house original digital team behind Peppa Pig Tales and the YouTube series Baby Alive, according to a news release.
Odd-Paw Vet follows Billie the Odd-Paw Vet and her hybrid animal friends living in Odd Springs as they explore a world of other animals in need of help and care.
The first three episodes were launched Friday (July 14) on the Odd-Paw Vet YouTube channel, with the remaining episodes set to drop weekly.
“Being a digital-first IP will allow us to test the appetite for these adorable and nurturing characters and learn from the viewing behaviors in real-time, with potential opportunities to expand the storytelling and brand in the future and truly build fandom organically,” said Olivier Dumont, president of family brands for eOne in a news release.
Hasbro has previously announced plans to sell off eOne’s film and television assets, but it will retain the global entertainment studio’s children’s brands such as Peppa Pig.
