Toronto-headquartered Productivity Media Inc. (PMI) has partnered with Black Fawn Films for a film slate of 10 genre titles, the first of which is the horror It Feeds, currently in production.

It Feeds wrapped filming on June 24 and is scheduled for a 2024 release, a publicist tells Playback Daily.

The slate will be curated, developed and produced by Cody Calahan (pictured, left) and Chad Archibald’s (pictured, right) Toronto-based Black Fawn with PMI, which will also finance the films. PMI’s head of content Navid McIlhargey will oversee the projects, according to a news release.

Black Fawn co-founder Archibald said in a statement that the “slate won’t just include ‘horror films’ — there will be content specifically crafted for today’s audiences, blending genres to shock and surprise viewers.”

It Feeds is written and directed by Archibald, who is also a producer alongside Calahan, Evan Ottoni, William Santor, and Morris Chapdelaine. The film has U.S. actor Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga) and Richmond, B.C.-born actor Shawn Ashmore (X-Men) in lead roles. Greene plays a clairvoyant therapist who must confront her own personal demons to save a girl who insists that a malevolent entity is feeding on her, said the release.

PMI, which also has offices in Vancouver, Los Angeles and London, develops, coproduces and finances films, episodic and digital content across a variety of genres and platforms. The company’s CEO William G. Santor said “the team at Black Fawn is a perfect addition to the partnerships Productivity is creating around the world that centre on content creators who are best of breed.”

PMI’s content pipeline includes Jack Huston’s directorial debut Day of the Fight, which recently completed principal photography.

Titles in post-production are: Borderline, written and directed by Jimmy Warden (Cocaine Bear); Queen of Bones; the Joel David Moore-directed Some Other Woman; and Littlemouth.

Ashley Greene is represented by The Gersh Agency and Untitled Entertainment. Shawn Ashmore is repped by Gersh and Artistry Management.
