North American content marketplace NATPE Global has firmed up its new team, led by Claire Macdonald, who was recently named executive director.
Macdonald is former SVP and publisher of Playback sister publication Realscreen and also oversees NATPE Budapest, which was held earlier this month after being acquired along with other assets of the National Association of Television Programming Executives (NATPE) by Playback parent company Brunico Communications.
Newly announced appointments for the NATPE Global event set for January 2024 include Jen Fitzgerald as senior conference producer, Brian Boudreau as sales manager, and Cesar Diaz as buyer relations manager, Latin America and Hispanic U.S.
Victoria Elmacioglu has been tapped as head of buyer relations and business development manager, Europe, and Jose Sanchez is now business development manager. Both Elmacioglu and Sanchez also represent NATPE Budapest.
NATPE Global will return to Miami in 2024, running Jan. 16 to 18 at the InterContinental Hotel with buyers and sellers of projects in development and catalogue programming.
Toronto-based Fitzgerald joins the team with experience producing various large-scale events, such as the Canadian Comedy Awards, CANCOM Comedy Symposium and Brunico properties including Realscreen Summit, Realscreen Awards, Marketing Evolution Summit and Media Innovation Awards, according to a news release. Previously she spent six years as a senior production coordinator and music licensing coordinator at Corus Entertainment, working with brands including YTV, CMT Canada, OWN Canada and W Network.
Boudreau has worked for Toronto-based Brunico for nearly seven years, starting as event sales representative for all company events in 2016 and most recently as senior account manager with Playback and six editions of the Banff World Media Festival. He also has significant experience working with the government and corporate worlds.
Diaz is based in Miami and leads his own content development, international sales and consulting company, 7A Media. He has more than 30 years of experience in TV distribution, with Latin American television enterprises including Radio Caracas Television (Venezuela), Telefe (Argentina), Telefónica de España (Spain) and Cisneros Media Distribution, formerly Venevision International (Venezuela).
Greece-based Elmacioglu has more than 20 years of experience in production, development and distribution, including with her production company and studio facilities, Television Enterprises. In 2017, she organized the TV-focused Mediamixx Festival in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Sanchez also has more than 20 years of experience across the entertainment industry, having worked as a senior business development leader with companies including Disney/ABC, BBC, A&E Discovery, and Reed Midem.
