Boat Rocker Media has commissioned a third season of the unscripted series Secrets in the Ice following a raft of global sales.
Secrets in the Ice, and its sister series Secrets in the Jungle, are produced by Toronto’s Shark Teeth Films, using modern archaeological technology with CGI animation to explore some of the remaining mysteries on the Earth’s surface. Both series have aired on Science Channel and are available on Discovery+.
Boat Rocker announced Tuesday (June 27) that a 10 x 60-minute season three of Secrets in the Ice is now in production, and it is currently negotiating presales with broadcasters. It is expected to be delivered in the fall.
Both the 6 x 60-minute first season and 10 x 60-minute second season of Secrets in the Ice and Secrets in the Jungle (10 x 60 minutes) have been sold to Seven. One Media (Germany), Rti (Italy), AMC Networks International Southern Europe (formerly Multicanal Iberia), FTV Prima (Czech Republic) and Foxtel (Australia).
Secrets in the Ice has also been sold to Bell Media in Canada, AETN UK and Benelux, and A&E Ole (Latin America). Additional acquisitions for Secrets in the Jungle are to JEI (South Korea) and Dox TV for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo and Slovenia.
Adrian Carter and Tom Mudd of Shark Teeth Films are executive producers on both series.
