IPF selects nine TV projects for production financing

Recipients include a new season of Murdoch Mysteries and Conquering Lion Pictures’ Half-Blood Blues.

The Independent Production Fund (IPF) has announced more than $1.7 million in production financing for nine TV projects.

The funding will be shared by four English- and five French-language projects through the Cogeco TV Production Program, which supports dramas and miniseries.

The English-language projects are all CBC titles: season 17 of Murdoch Mysteries from Shaftesbury; Somebody Knows Something from Sphere Media; Half-Blood Blues from Conquering Lion Pictures; and the police procedural Allegiance by Lark Productions.

The French projects include Bell Media titles Animaux noirs from Les Productions Passez Go and Empathie from Trio Orange.

Also included are the third seasons of Télé-Québec’s Comme des têtes pas de poule from Téléfiction Productions and SRC’s C’est comme ça que je t’aime from Productions Casablanca. Rounding off the French-language projects is TVA’s Détective Surprenan from V10 Média.

Established in 2018, the Cogeco TV Production Program has distributed $12.6 million in production funding to 72 projects. The IPF has invested more than $88 million in 1,106 projects since its inception in 1991.
