Entertainment One acquires U.K. series Royal Mob

The four-part drama documentary is produced by Nutopia and premiered on Sky History in 2022.

Entertainment One (eOne) has picked up international distribution rights, excluding the U.K., Germany and Italy, to the drama documentary Royal Mob.

The four-part series is produced by the U.K.’s Nutopia and premiered on Sky history in 2022. It explores history through the eyes of Queen Victoria’s granddaughters and how their family ruled across Europe in the 19th century.

The Toronto-headquartered company previously handled international distribution for the 2019 Nutopia documentary Unmasking Jihadi John: Anatomy Of A Terrorist.

Royal Mob joins eOne’s growing factual slate, which includes Fearless: The Women Fighting Putin and I’m An Alcoholic: Inside Recovery. The company recently picked up international rights, excluding Australia, to the eight-part drama Paper Dolls.

Parentco Hasbro is currently shopping its eOne film and TV business following a strategic review of the company’s assets. CEO Chris Cocks told investors last week that an update on the sale is expected to come in Q2.
