Blue Ant sets first original for FAST channel HauntTV

B.C.-based docuseries Haunted Gold Rush will be released on HauntTV in the U.S. on Oct. 27 before heading to T+E in Canada.

Blue Ant Media has set two-part docuseries Haunted Gold Rush as its first free, ad-supported TV (FAST) channel original for HauntTV.

The 2 x 60-minute series, produced by Canadian prodco Small Army Entertainment in association with Blue Ant Media, will make its global debut on U.S. platform VIZIO via its Fall Fest before its release on Oct. 27 on HauntTV. The FAST channel is now available on VIZIO’s WatchFree+.

Haunted Gold Rush is set in B.C. as a group of paranormal investigators – Corine Carey, Leanne Sallenback and Kelly Ireland – look into ghost sightings along the province’s Gold Rush Trail, which runs from New Westminster to Prince George. The series will make its Canadian premiere on the Blue Ant-owned T+E channel on Oct. 30.

Sean De Vries (The Bachelor Canada) is a writer, director and executive producer on the series, with Sam Linton, VP, production and development, serving as executive producer on behalf of Blue Ant Media. Global distribution rights are held by Blue Ant International.

The series is Blue Ant’s “first-ever original to premiere globally on a FAST platform,” said Jamie Schouela, president, global channels and media, in a statement.

Season two of Hotel Paranormal, produced by Blue Ant’s Saloon Media and narrated by Emmy winner Dan Aykroyd, will also premiere during VIZIO’s Fall Fest before its launch on HauntTV. The second season went into production in early 2021.
