Frank Siracusa’s Whizbang Films has hired Frank Manzo as chief financial officer as the company’s former CFO Janina Barrett retires.
The former CEO of Creative Arts Savings and Credit Union will help support the Toronto-based production services company’s strategic initiatives, and has “deep ties to the Canadian film and animation production community,” according to a news release.
Manzo has held previous roles at the National Bank of Canada’s film and TV group, Ontario Creates, and Corus Entertainment, working as both a lender and a business affairs lead within the screen sector. He oversaw the merger of the Creative Arts Savings and Credit Union with FirstOntario Credit Union to launch Creative Arts Financial.
Siracusa, president and CEO of Whizbang Films, said Manzo will be “an asset” for the company’s future, in a statement. “While I am so thankful to outgoing CFO Janina Barrett for over 25 years of service building Whizbang Films with me, we are thrilled to welcome Frank Manzo to the team,” he added.
Manzo said he looks forward to “working together with our industry partners to bring our goals to fruition.”
Whizbang Films has provided production services on several high-profile projects in Toronto, including Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, Paramount+’s Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Netflix’s Locke & Key, Hallmark Channel’s Good Witch, and The CW’s In the Dark.
