Jeremy LaLonde’s thriller Ashgrove has secured U.K. distribution following its recent sale south of the border.
London, U.K.’s (Yet) Another Distribution Company has acquired the rights to the feature and will release it in tandem with Canada and the U.S. on Dec. 2.
The deal was negotiated by (Yet) Another Distribution Company’s Shawny McIntosh and Ashgrove producers LaLonde, Jonas Chernick and Peter Harvey.
Ashgrove is directed by LaLonde, who co-wrote it with stars Chernick and Amanda Brugel. The two portray a married couple who realize the fate of their relationship has a direct impact on the future of the human race. Co-stars include Shawn Doyle, Natalie Brown, Sugith Varughese and Christine Horne.
The feature is produced by Chernick’s Banana-Moon Sky Films, LaLonde’s Cryingman Productions, and Peter Harvey Productions. Good Deed Entertainment’s genre arm Cranked up Films handles U.S. distribution, while the Canadian rights are held by Northern Banner Releasing.
McIntosh said Ashgrove was a stand-out at the Glasgow Film Festival, where it had its world premiere, calling the film’s writers “fresh and bold voices with distinct world-building skills.”
