Blue Ant Media announces three greenlights, one renewal

Cub Camp, American Doomsday and Haunted Lost and Found are bound for the company's specialty TV platforms, and Mysteries from Above is set for season two.

Series about orphaned bear cubs, extreme weather and haunted possessions have been greenlit by Blue Ant Media for its specialty TV platforms Cottage Life, T+E and Love Nature, while another series has been renewed.

Cub Camp, American Doomsday (w/t), and Haunted Lost and Found (w/t) are the fresh commissions alongside the newly announced second season of Mysteries from Above.

Produced by Merit Motion Pictures, the 6 x 60-minute original Cub Camp (pictured) will start filming in spring/summer 2023 and make its world broadcast premiere on wildlife and nature brand Love Nature. The look at orphaned black bear cubs at a Manitoba rescue organization is a Love Nature global commission slated to air at a yet-to-be-announced date in Canada and roll out worldwide on its branded linear and streaming platforms.

The 3 x 90-minute American Doomsday is scheduled to make its Canadian broadcast premiere on Cottage Life in spring 2023. Produced by Wildflame/Saloon Media, a Blue Ant Media company, the documentary series gives an in-depth look at weather phenomena and natural forces.

Set for a world broadcast premiere on T+E in spring 2023 is Haunted Lost and Found, a treaty coproduction between Singapore-based, Blue Ant Media company Beach House Pictures and Momo Film, as well as Vancouver-based De Vries Productions. The 8 x 60-minute original series features first-hand accounts of possessions that have been haunted or cursed.

Season two of the original investigative series Mysteries from Above (Saloon Media), featuring aerial footage of locations around the world, will make its world broadcast premiere on Cottage Life in summer 2023. Blue Ant says season one currently sits as the number one-rated new series on Cottage Life this year.

All four series are available for licensing globally by distribution arm Blue Ant International.

In a news release, Blue Ant says the new greenlights reinforce its “ongoing commitment to create premium, engaging content with global reach and scale.”

“We know this dynamic portfolio has great global appeal and will work well for both our Blue Ant channels and our international distribution pipeline,” said Sam Linton, the company’s VP and head of original content, Canadian media, in a statement.
