Netflix original series Stranger Things is in high demand in Canada before the return of its fourth season on Friday (May 27).
Reigning at No. 1 for both the top 10 digital originals and top 10 overall TV shows in Canada, the 21 Laps Entertainment series, starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and Winona Ryder, was 36.32 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada between May 9 to 15, according to Parrot Analytics.
Stranger Things has been consecutively high on the digital originals list, ranking No. 4 last week, while it fell to No. 7 in the overall TV series demand list.
Moving up from its No. 3 spot last week on the top digital originals chart is HBO Max’s Our Flag Means Death (25.15) as it ranks No. 2, with Toronto-shot Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (24.82) at No. 3.
Rounding out the top five digital originals are Marvel Studios series Moon Knight (22.87) at No. 4, which moves down in rank after topping the digital originals demand in Canada for three straight weeks, and Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian (20.95) at No. 5. Both are available on Disney+.
In the top 10 overall TV shows in Canada, NBC’s Saturday Night Live (34.41) comes in at No. 2, followed by AMC’s Better Call Saul (32.37) at No. 3 and Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants (26.55) at No. 4.
