Corus to launch Magnolia Network Canada

First launched in the U.S. as a joint venture between Chip and Joanna Gaines and Discovery, Magnolia will serve as a rebrand for Corus' existing lifestyle channel DIY Network Canada.

Corus Entertainment is bringing lifestyle network Magnolia Network to Canada as part of a rebrand of its DIY Network.

The channel, a joint venture between Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines (pictured) and Discovery, will launch in Canada on March 28, marking the first time a broadcaster has made it available outside of the U.S.

Magnolia Network Canada will include more than 200 hours of new and original content, as well as popular content from DIY Network Canada.

Among the new titles are Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines, Restoration Road with Clint Harp, The Lost Kitchen, Family Dinner, Homegrown and The Johnnyswim Show; returning DIY Network series include Maine Cabin Masters, Barnwood Builders and Restoring Galveston. It will also include the popular HGTV series Fixer Upper and the rebooted series Fixer Upper: Welcome Home.

Magnolia Network Canada will be available in free preview at launch until May 31. A four-hour preview, titled Magnolia Presents: A Look Back & A Look Ahead, will air on the DIY Network Canada on March 6, giving a look at some of the new content and the Gaineses’ journey from Fixer Upper to Magnolia.

The channel rebrand comes months after Corus Entertainment expanded its partnership with Discovery, acting as a marketing partner for the launch of streaming service Discovery+ in Canada.
