Corus inks deal with Rogers to bring StackTV to Ignite customers

Lifetime has also been added to the roster of available channels on the Corus-owned streaming service.

Corus Entertainment has partnered with Rogers Communications to expand StackTV to Ignite customers.

The deal will see Corus’ multi-channel streaming service become available as an add-on to Rogers Ignite TV and Ignite SmartStream customers as of Wednesday (Feb. 9).

Corus has also added content from Lifetime to the streaming service, which now includes titles from across 13 Corus networks and specialty channels such as Global, HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada, W Network, Adult Swim, National Geographic and Teletoon.

Titles available on StackTV include acquisitions NCIS, FBI: International, Good Sam (pictured) and New Amsterdam, as well as original commissions such as HGTV Canada’s Island of Bryan and Food Network Canada’s Wall of Chefs.

The service is available with a 30-day free trial and costs $9.99 plus tax for Ignite TV subscribers and $12.99 plus tax per month for Ignite SmartStream subscribers.

StackTV launched in 2019 as an add-on to Amazon SVOD Prime Video at the cost of $12.99 plus tax per month.

“Furthering Corus’ strategy to re-aggregate the channels business within internet only households, in addition to households with traditional TV, Corus is excited to provide our unique live and on demand streaming package to more Canadians on more platforms,” said Doug Murphy, president and CEO of Corus Entertainment in a statement.
