Telefilm appoints Adriana Chartrand as lead of Indigenous initiatives

Chartrand, the former institute manager at imagineNATIVE, replaces Adam Garnet Jones who left the Telefilm role earlier in the year.

adriana chartrandTelefilm has appointed Adriana Chartrand to the role of lead, Indigenous initiatives and content analyst on a five-year term.

Chartrand, who most recently served as institute manager at imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, will act as a resource person and representative for Indigenous communities in business relations and development.

From November 2017 to January 2019, Chartrand, who is Red River Métis(Michif)/mixed settler, was institute coordinator at before being promoted to institute manager.

She takes over the role from Adam Garnet Jones, who left Telefilm earlier this year to join APTN as director of TV content and special events.

Based in Toronto, Chartrand will begin the the role on June 28. She will report to the national director, feature films – English market.
