Coroner continues to be a hot ticket in the international marketplace.
Seasons one through three (26 x 60 minutes) of the crime drama, which is sold internationally by Cineflix Rights, have been licensed to Nine Network (Australia), Sky (U.K.), Paramount+ (Nordics), SBS (Belgium), Sky Italia and Stöð 2 (Iceland). Cineflix Rights also acquired global rights to the show’s fourth season, which was officially greenlit by CBC earlier this month.
The sales come on the heels of deals with The CW in the U.S., Channel 4 in the U.K. and Globo (Brazil).
The deals with Sky, Paramount+ and Stöð 2 were brokered by Sandra Piha, who serves as SVP, sales, pan-regional, U.K., Ireland and Scandinavia for Cineflix Rights. Meanwhile, Chris Bluett, SVP, sales, Asia Pacific and Benelux negotiated the deals with Nine Network and SBS. The deal with Sky Italia was closed by Charo Penedo, sales consultant for France, Italy and Iberia.
Season three of the Morwyn Brebner-created series went into production last fall and premiered on CBC in February. The show is produced by Muse Entertainment, Back Alley Films and Cineflix Studios. The expanded 12-episode fourth season will air in winter 2022.
