Blue Ant Studios is producing a documentary exploring the controversial and secret life of Ghislaine Maxwell and her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein (both pictured) for Sky Documentaries.
The Sky Original docuseries, Ghislaine Maxwell: Epstein’s Shadow, is produced by Blue Ant Studios in collaboration with Sky UK and Peacock. The 3 x 60-minute series will air in the U.S. on Peacock, under the title Epstein’s Shadow: Ghislaine Maxwell on June 24, and will subsequently air on Sky Documentaries and streaming service Now on June 28. A Canadian broadcaster has not yet been announced.
The three-hour documentary investigates Maxwell, once the heiress to the Maxwell fortune, but whose life becomes affected by scandal when she meets Jeffrey Epstein, financier and convicted sex offender. The series will unravel the complex story of power, sex, and money, leading to Maxwell’s arrest and pointing to her upcoming trial.
The Sky Original documentary was commissioned for Sky Documentaries by Zai Bennett, managing director of content and Poppy Dixon, director of documentaries and factual and negotiated by Jack Oliver, head of coproductions, Sky Entertainment. The documentary is directed by Barbara Shearer. Jennifer Harkness, Emma Cooper, Barbara Shearer, Nina Burleigh, Sam Sniderman and Laura Michalchyshyn serve as executive producers. Michael McKinley is co-executive producer.
The series is distributed internationally by Abacus Media Rights, which brokered the deal with Sky in the U.K.
