Cineflix Studios has appointed veteran producer Sonia Hosko, whose credits include Saving Hope and Rookie Blue, as its VP, current.

The newly created role is based in Toronto and will see Hosko focusing on the Canadian market. Reporting to Brett Burlock, SVP, scripted, Cineflix Studios, Hosko will source and develop scripted IP.

In addition to serving as a producer on Saving Hope (CTV, Ion) and Rookie Blue (ABC, Global), Hosko more recently a co-executive producer on Burden of Truth (CBC) and The Detail (CTV, Ion). She also previously worked on Sarah Polley’s Away from Her, Brian De Palma’s Redacted, and Atom Egoyan’s Adoration. 

The hire comes as Cineflix Studios looks to grow its scripted output and build on the international success of globe-trotting hits such as Coroner and Wynonna Earp, in addition to season two of Tehran and Pure.
