Entertainment One
Brazil-based media company Globo has picked up the rights to three Canadian series for its SVOD service Globoplay. Entertainment One (eOne) secured the deal for Nurses (IFC Films, eOne; pictured), Burden of Truth (IFC Films, Eagle Vision, eOne) and Mary Kills People (Cameron Pictures, eOne) ahead of the virtual NATPE market, which begins today (Jan. 18), and sees all three series available on Brazil’s largest streaming platform. The deal includes all three seasons of Mary Kills People as well as all currently and future seasons of Nurses and Burden of Truth. The deal was brokered by eOne’s David Hanono, VP of sales, Latin America.
All three series have been distributed in the U.S.; season one of Nurses is currently airing on NBC, The CW has aired all seasons of Burden of Truth and recently acquired its upcoming fourth season, while Lifetime aired the first two seasons of Mary Kills People.
