One of Canada’s most elusive robbers will get the biopic treatment in a new film from Canadian director Allan Ungar.
Bandit will star Josh Duhamel (pictured) as Gilbert Galvan Jr., also known as the Flying Bandit bank robber, who gained notoriety in Canada for pulling off bank robberies all across the country. Ungar will direct the script written by Canadian screenwriter Kraig Wenman, which is based on the novel by Robert Knuckle, and Galvin Jr.’s interviews with journalist Ed Arnold.
Eric Gozlan will produce the film under Montreal prodco Goldrush Entertainment, with Ungar serving as executive producer alongside Duhamel, Wenman and L.A.-based Highland Film Group’s Arianne Fraser and Delphine Perrier.
Ungar’s previous directing credits include the action film Gridlocked, which was released on VOD and Netflix in 2016. He is repped by World Builder Entertainment, Verve and The Characters Talent Agency.
Duhamel is repped by ICM Partners and John Carrabino management while Wenman is repped by APA and Zero Gravity Management.
