David Miller named exec director at Sonoma International Film Festival

In addition to the new role, Miller will continue to produce and executive produce films, as well as retaining minority ownership in the assets of A71 Entertainment.

Veteran Canadian independent film producer and distributor David Miller is taking a new gig in California as executive director of Sonoma International Film Festival (SIFF).

In the new role, Miller is tasked with growing the festival and its programs. He’ll work alongside Kevin W. McNeely, who is transitioning out of the executive director role to become artistic director.

Miller has a long-standing relationship with SIFF, having produced 10 films that have screened at the California-based film festival over the years, including Amal, Siddharth, Blackbird and Kivalina Vs. Exxon.

In addition to his responsibilities as exec director at SIFF, Miller will continue to produce and executive produce films, as well as retaining his minority ownership in the assets of A71 Entertainment.

“I have produced, promoted, distributed and sold films over the years. It will be exciting to be on the other end to bring great quality and a stronger international industry component to this wonderful festival,” said Miller in a statement.

The 24th edition of SIFF will take place March 24-28, 2021, with a combination of live and virtual events and experiences.
