Bad Blood and Sons of Anarchy star Kim Coates is set to produce and star in Neon Lights, a psychological thriller set to begin shooting in Hamilton, ON on Nov. 1.
The indie feature, produced by Ontario-based prodcos Ideal Entertainment and Red Hill Entertainment in association with Detroit, MI’s Twin Fins Productions, is directed by Rouzbeh Heydari (Together Again) and co-written by Dana Abraham, who stars opposite Coates.
LevelFILM has acquired Canadian distribution rights to the film and slated it for release in spring 2021.
The film tells the story of a successful tech tycoon (played by Abraham) who is about to launch an IPO until he loses his cool during an interview, and retreats to a remote hideaway with his estranged family to restore balance in his life. However, what starts as a healing reunion take a frightening turn when guests start going missing.
Coates’ daughter Brenna Coates (Coroner) also stars in the movie, representing the first time the pair have both starred in a feature.
Executive producers are Qamar Qureshi, Ritu Sharda, Anesh Maharaj and Jazz Brar. Shaji Nada and Kim Yu serve as producers, with Trevor Smith as coproducer.
